It is great to have a girlfriend who completely trusts you. It doesn’t matter to her where you go or whom you are with. But before you can have a cool girlfriend like that, you first need to gain her trust, you need to earn it. Earning your girlfriend’s trust takes time. As the saying goes, good things happen for good boys who wait. You need to prove to her that you are trustworthy. Easier said than done, that is why you need to commit yourself to consistent actions that will help gain her trust.
Why Trust is Important?
It’s impossible that you and your girlfriend can to be together all the time. You both have important things to do; you have different jobs to do and different places to go to. That is where trust in a relationship comes in. It keeps a relationship strong and gives both of you peace of mind even if you are far away from each other. It is one of the important factors on having a great and long lasting relationship. Without trust you don’t have the confidence to give your partner freedom to do whatever she wants or wherever she goes. Your relationship will lack affection. You are afraid to share your emotions, especially your secrets. You will always be jealous. The worst part is you will always think that your partner is secretly having an affair. To cut it short, trust is the foundation of any relationship.
Show her she can trust you
Let her know that you are the number one person in her life that she can lean on when times are hard. Always talk to her and listen carefully. Ask her about her problems or how her day went. Give her the respect that she deserves by treating her how a fine girl should be treated. Whenever she’s with you, make her feel secure or protected.
Avoid keeping secrets from her; there should never be any secrets in a relationship. Tell her everything about yourself, your experiences, and your family. If she feels that you trust her, she will definitely do the same. Likewise, treasure her secrets. Once she tells you her secrets, do not be a fool to carelessly spread it to others. She trusts you with her secrets, don’t waste it.
Be the truthful guy. Never tell a lie, or if you had, never justify a bad lie. It’s all the same. Don’t teach your girlfriend to lie to you by becoming a liar to her. All your efforts will just go to waste the moment she catches you lying on her face. Likewise, if you promised to do something then really do it. Do not fail her expectations that you, yourself, set on her.
Apologizing does not make you less of a man
Be the first to admit that you are wrong when you’ve obviously committed mistakes. Never be the proud guy that no girl wants. When you are man enough to admit your fault, you are in turn teaching your girlfriend the same. The result is a healthier relationship built on trust and honesty.
Respect her feelings
Be sensitive to her feelings by closely observing what’s bothering her. If she feels uneasy about something, ask her. Let her open up to you about something or someone. If your girlfriend is acting differently about something and you don’t understand why, don’t be judgmental right away. If she’s acting uncomfortable because of a person she may be jealous about, and then explain in a nice way why she shouldn’t have any reason to be jealous. Better yet, introduce her to this person in a manner she can feel you are proud of her.
Keep the romance alive
A dull relationship will only lead to breakup. Spice things up a bit, take her to a place she really wants or plan a romantic dinner. Always do something out of the ordinary. Be the boyfriend that she has always dreamed about. Show people or your how proud you are with your girlfriend so that she also builds rapport to your friends.
Keep your mutual “trust” going by avoiding anything that will “risk” this important thing in your relationship. Remember, it is 10x harder to gain trust than losing it. “Once bitten and twice shy” are most girls are – they are very open to trusting if you’d ask for it, but once you’ve hurt them badly because of something they thought they could trust you with, they’re unlikely to trust you again. If you’ve worked hard enough to gain her trust, never let one second of irresponsibility or insensitivity put all that to waste.
