You can guess it right that no matter how modern a woman gets, chivalry is still something that can melt her heart in an instant. Men too can relate; deep down inside of them are men with the gentlest of heart, willing to please their women with their fine gestures.
If you’re young or is a product of the modern world, you might think that chivalry or no chivalry, you can still get the girl. That may be true, but remember that the faster you get a girl, the faster you lose her too. If you’d think about it, chivalry gets you the “right” kind of girl. Not only that, a chivalrous attitude in a relationship helps it to stay strong, and yes, keep your girlfriend happy and content – translated to: faithful. Do you think learning to be chivalrous is more like a trip to the moon? Well, not if you care to meet the finest girls; after all the fine girls are smart and assertive, they pay no attention to men who can’t even learn to be a gentleman.
Are you willing to learn these “real” men traits?
Fake it till you make it
Well, at least for now, this is the simplest way to start learning chivalry – by acting it. With acting, you can do this without having to feel too much, you simply do it to make your date or girl feels special. Once you start seeing how this makes her happy, you will start to like the idea and would now act more naturally. In fact, if you really like the girl you’re with, acts of chivalry are too easy to do. The thought of pleasing her will always be on top of your mind. Opening the car door for her, carrying her stuff, holding the door for her, calling her when you say you’ll do, meeting her friends or even making sure she got home safe and not raising your voice even during arguments. Does this sound like hard things to do, of course not? If you’d think about it, these are just the basic acts of chivalry mom and dad taught us to do. You only have to refresh your mind and start putting them into practice.
Pick out a mentor
You know what they say that when you want to learn something, learn by getting yourself a mentor. This could be anyone whose chivalry you admire — a co-worker, an older friend, your boss, or even your dad. Men admire other men too especially in how they look or present themselves in a masculine but fun way. Sometimes men copy other men’s “image” too. But be careful, just because a person you know may seem “popular” with the girls at work or your circle may not always mean he’s popular because of his chivalry. Sad to say that some girls prefer “coolness” or “toughness” over chivalry; they interpret this as “sexy” or “hot”. Think Chris Brown, a person we all believe has zero chivalry in his veins. So be careful who to choose to emulate, you just might pick up the wrong traits.
Creepy or chivalry? Know the difference
Did the modern woman permit chivalry to die? Maybe. Because modern women have become independent, they themselves no longer ask or “expect” men to be like the knights of the old. Likewise, being strong or independent is often seen as sexy by some men. It’s no wonder therefore that when men act fine, some women find it “creepy”. Still, don’t let women like these stop you from adopting chivalry. After all it’s no longer your fault if they know the difference. If you like your girl too much that sooner or later you will have to meet her parents, learning chivalry know will definitely win their hearts. Just don’t overdo it. Sticking to the simple acts that show you’re a gentleman is enough, don’t do more than what’s necessary such as, showing extreme affection in public, or writing her countless love letters or even cutting up her steak for her. When putting on your act, make sure you’re charming the girls and not scaring.
Prepare to be ridiculed by your friends, especially when of all people chivalry is not something they’d expect from you. Your friends may find it so uncool and may not enjoy the discussion about it. For them, this is giving the girls permission to be “controlled” or “manipulated”. Don’t take it too personally; you can’t expect them to always agree with you. For all you know, they are just intimidated and starting to feel jealous of something you were man enough to do, that for which they can’t.
